THE FOUNDERS
In 1979, Jay and Celia Feder founded Jay Feder Jewelers in Denver, Colorado. They knew that educating their customers, as well as an emphasis on customer service, would be the bedrock of the company’s success. With this vision, and clearly ahead of his time in 1986, Jay wrote “The Practical Guide to Buying Diamonds.” Jay Feder Jewelers prides itself having an extensive inventory of loose diamonds and colored stones, as well as a tremendous selection of ready for purchase and custom pieces by some of the most renowned designers in the industry. Providing outstanding service and exceeding customer’s expectations has always been something JFJ has strived for, and there is nothing more important than a client feeling like they not only got the best value, but that they were treated like family.
Marc and Devorah Feder
The New Generation
Jay and Celia's son, Marc, started working summers at the business at the age of 12. He developed a passion for diamonds and the jewelry industry as a whole, and started working full time at the store in 2001. He worked alongside his parents for 10 years watching this great company flourish. Marc observed early on how important it was to his parents to provide the best quality product, fair pricing, superior client education, and most of all excellent customer service. He followed these principles when he and his wife Devorah took over the reigns in 2011. Devorah first joined the business in 2013, managing marketing and social media, but gradually took over purchasing, design, and day to day running of their 3 locations.
However if you ask those in the know... Winston their 8 year old rescue Pekingese is the real CEO.
EXPANSION
Our New York branch, located in the heart of the Diamond District was founded in 2012. This is a full-scale wholesale and manufacturing operation. Custom work and design is one of our favorite aspects of the business and there is nothing we love more than to help your jewelry tell your story. We understand how intimidating custom design can be and we try to make the process seamless, on time, smooth and most of all fun. Our NYC staff is extremely well trained and knowledgable in all areas of custom design and manufacturing, and most of all treat each client like they're family.
With Florida and NYC established the Feder's focused their attention on Denver. Wanting their clients to have a more enjoyable and welcoming shopping experience they realized that the time had come to move out of their 40 year old downtown location. They discovered the Landmark in Greenwood Village and found the perfect spot for their newest baby. Construction began in June 2020 and the beautiful showroom opened in December.
FAMILY ORIENTED BUSINESS
The opening of the Boca Raton store was no easy feat, but inspired by the promise of a boundless future, and with Devorah's no fear attitude and Marc's extensive knowledge of the diamond industry, it was a challenge the Feders embraced with great enthusiasm. With 4 kids and 2 dogs in tow, 2 other locations to manage, over a year of designing and building (Devorah designed the entire store), 2 floods (one in Denver and one in Boca ), several hundred flights to NYC and Denver it was definitely a labor of love - and never boring. Their children ranging in age from 19 - 8 are involved in almost all aspects of the business, from starring in TV commercials, painting gallery worthy art to hang in the showrooms, and even designing their own jewelry line. There is nothing more important to them than family.
Family is everything.
The Feders bring a fresh new twist to an often old school and sometimes snobby industry, and take the art of jewelry shopping to a different level. They want to make sure that not only does every customer feel welcome, no matter the budget or purchase, but that just being in the store would be an experience in and of itself. The heart of the store is a comfortable lounge stocked with drinks, wine, chocolate, and snacks, a TV, and an array of distracting games and books for the inner child in every bored man waiting for his wife, or vice versa! A double sided 300 gallon seahorse saltwater tank is Marc’s pride and joy and his favorite part of the store.
The Curation of Quality & Beauty
Marc and Devorah curate a beautiful collection of jewels from a mix of established designers and hot up and coming artists. They pride themselves on having many one of a kind and exotic designs and lines that can’t be found anywhere else in South Florida, (and in some cases the USA).
JFJ has a tremendous inventory of loose diamonds in every carat weight, and one of their favorite parts of the business is custom design. From engagement rings to remaking heirloom pieces, creating treasures that they and their clients fall in love with is something they so enjoy and excel in.
Its all about community
Marc and Devorah and the whole Jay Feder team are active in several charities and their synagogue.
