At Jay Feder we've been at the cutting edge of jewelry design and build for over 40 years. There is nothing we enjoy more than making your dream concept become something real and tangible. We know how intimidating custom design can be and we try to make the entire design process seamless, easy, and enjoyable. Our exceptional and talented team of designers and jewelers would love to work with you and have your jewels tell your story.
Step 1: Concept and Quote Request
Whether you've got an idea in your head, a sketch on a napkin, or a fully formed concept we would love to bring it to life!
Our jewelry designers will take your ideas, drawings and images and work together with you to create a design concept. Our staff of GIA Graduate Gemologists can help you select the perfect conflict free diamonds and gemstones for your design, or we can often incorporate your own metal and stones into the final item.
Step 2: CAD - Computer Aided Design Model
Once your design concept has been finalized and an order placed, we will create a computerized (CAD) model which displays multi-angled renderings of your piece. A CAD is a drawing of your ring that is created in computer software. It is important to remember that a CAD is not a final representation of your piece. The CAD will look chunky, almost like a video game version house vs a real life one, and not at all like the final polished product. Images of your CAD will be sent for you to approve or request modifications to your design.
Step 3: Approval & Finished Piece
Upon your final approval, our production team will cast your design in the precious metal of your choice. Your gemstones are then meticulously set by our expert craftsmen. Your beautifully finished piece is then thoroughly inspected by our team and presented to you.
